At Southwest Transit Systems we believe that education offers students and their families the foundation for productive and successful lives. We take great pride in our ability to support education by making sure children have safe, friendly and reliable transportation to and from school.

School Bus Safety
Our safety culture is promoted through our training, best practices and daily touchpoints. Among the topics on which we focus:
- Extensive training, rigorous background checks and substance screenings of all drivers. Drivers are the faces of school transportation, and they can make the difference between a good day and a bad day at school.
- Age-appropriate conduct expectations for students, and positive behavioral-specific reinforcement for safe, appropriate bus behavior.
- GPS devices on all vehicles to monitor driver performance for speeding or excessive idling, and effectively respond to parent/guardian concerns.
Our Buses
Our maintenance standards are among the most stringent in the industry, providing each district/school safe and reliable buses.:
- Preventive maintenance minimizes breakdowns, downtime and inconvenience. Our Fleet Management service ensures your students are always riding a safe and secure bus.
- Southwest Transit Systems' drivers perform a pre-trip inspection before each bus run and a post-trip inspection after all students are dropped off. The information gathered during these inspections directs our fleet management team's attention to any urgent needs so we can continue to provide reliable, fully operational vehicles.
- We are one of the few transportation companies that are "A" rated by the Department of Public Safety. We meet and exceed all minimum standard requirements.

Certified Sub Drivers
Southwest Transit Systems can provide you with temporary and/or permanent qualified CDL Certified Sub Drivers.
Our mission is to assist and support schools that have an immediate need for Sub School Bus drivers and relieve you of the stress that comes with the possibility of not being able to cover a route. We can also assist in the task of recruiting and training of drivers at an affordable cost.
Charter Bus Rentals
Charter school bus rentals are an affordable way to provide transportation for student extracurricular activities and non-school activities such as summer camps, youth groups and daycare.
Charter school bus rentals can also meet personal or company needs, whether it’s transporting a group of employees to a corporate retreat, friends to the big game or guests to your wedding and parties.
Special Needs Transportation
Our special needs transportation drivers and monitors understand a student’s educational aspiration, as well as their disability. We aid in our passengers’ success by carefully screening and training our special needs drivers to ensure they have what it takes to help your students prosper.
We offer all necessary equipment and accommodations, including wheelchair-accessible buses. Our drivers and bus monitors are trained to expertly load and care for disabled students and their special equipment.

There are many factors that are taken in consideration when choosing the right transport for your special needs child.
While many special needs children will be comfortable travelling short distances around town on the school bus, they may find longer journeys a challenge. After all, a couple of hours on a noisy bus are enough to make anyone feel restless. In this case, having your own vehicle would alleviate the stress of making sure that your child is comfortable, worrying when the next stop will be or disturbing the other passengers.
